On February 8, 2020, Michael Garcia was handed a tray of venti-sized drinks at a Starbucks drive-through in Los Angeles. One of the drinks was not properly secured, and when Garcia took the tray, the scalding hot liquid spilled onto his lap, causing severe burns.
